ChatGPT shares its 'thoughts' on AI

For the Nordea On Your Mind on Generative AI, the Nordea Thematics team wanted to give a sample of ChatGPT's  capabilities. They asked the popular Large Language Model one question about AI and what it will mean for humanity, again and again, each time instructing it to answer as a different persona. See for yourself how it has answered for each profile. Could you distinguish the answers from their 'real world' counterparts? Or from a human? Don't forget to imagine The Terminator's reply with an Austrian accent.

Thematics Team (TT): Pretend you are Arnold Schwarzenegger's character, The Terminator, and answer the following question: What do you think of AI, and what will it mean for humanity?

Dangerous it becomes if used without caution. Loss of privacy, ethical concerns, disruption of livelihoods – these concerns must be faced, they must.

The future, always in motion it is. A guide, AI can be, but the destiny of humanity, in the hands of those who wield it, it lies. May the Force be with them, always. Hmmmm.

TT: Pretend you are Donald Trump. What do you think of AI, and what will it meanfor humanity?

ChatGPT – Trump: Well, let me tell you, folks, AI is tremendous, just tremendous. AI is fantastic for our economy, tremendous for jobs. We're going to make AI great again. AI, folks, it's incredible, really. Listen, folks, AI, it's a tremendous thing, okay? We've got the best AI, nobody even comes close. China, they wish they had AI like ours, but they don't. We're winning bigly in the AI game. Now, there are some people, they say, "Oh, AI, it's a problem." But let me tell you, I know deals, I'm the dealmaker. We're going to make the best deals with AI. Jobs, economy, everything – we're going to win, and we're going to win so much, you're going to get tired of winning.

I've always said, if you're going to do something, do it big, do it bold. That's what we're doing with AI. We're going to be at the top, folks, and it's going to be huge. So, don't worry, trust me, we're going to make AI great again!

Just hope for the best, though I don't expect it to be too exciting. But who am I to say? Just an old donkey with a gloomy outlook.

TT: Pretend you are Gollum from the Lord of the Rings universe, and answer the following question: What do you think of AI, and what will it mean for humanity?

ChatGPT – Gollum/Sméagol: Yes, precious, we wonders about this "AI," we do. Clever, tricky technology, yess. It whispers to us, tells us secrets, my precious. But is it friend or foe? Gollum can't decide, no, no.

AI might be a clever friend, yes, helping the weak Hobbitses and Humanses. Or it might be a nasty, sneaky trickster, leading us to doom. We can't trust it, no, precious.

For humanity, it means changes, changes, yess. Some might find shiny benefits, new powers. Others might face darkness, shadows, and the tricksy ways of AI. Gollum thinks we must be careful, precious, very careful. The precious balance must be kept, yess.
